285 N. County Blvd.: land use amendment (2.23 acres) and zone change to PO-1 (1.31 acres)

    Approved · 5-0

Shelton said a three-story building would hurt neighbors and wanted a development agreement; Carroll asked how far commercial would encroach. Project representative Jason Vangardson said the building would sit near the corner behind a decorative fence and the CEO had met each homeowner. Staff said no one spoke against it at the planning commission and committed to draft buffer standards for professional office next to homes. Resolution 2023-01-05R and Ordinance 2023-01-02 (excluding unincorporated parcel 14:017:0128).

    • Land use: 2.23 acres to professional office
    • Zone: 1.31 acres to PO-1

Truman annexation petition, 0.978 acres at 1054 E. 300 North

    Denied · 5-0

Taylor moved to reject, saying he needed more answers and the building wouldn't fit a residential area. Shelton said 200 North, slated for professional office, better suits larger buildings. Carroll said more information was needed but the property might still suit professional office. Frost offered to act as a bridge between developer and residents. Per the mayor's attached email, the annexation was needed to combine parcels for the proposed project.
