Terms of use

Last updated October 16, 2026

The Utah Ledger is a free news site owned and published by Paul Ivinskas. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Reading and sharing

You're welcome to read the site, link to any page, share stories using the share buttons, and quote short passages with credit to The Utah Ledger and a link to the story. Please don't republish whole stories, or present our reporting as your own, without written permission.

What belongs to whom

Our own stories, data pages and graphics, including the share card shown with each story, belong to The Utah Ledger. Some stories were first published by our sister publication, The Financial Current, and say so. News summaries link the outlet whose report they describe, and that outlet owns its own story. Photos from other people are used under the free licenses named in each credit, and those licenses, not these terms, govern their reuse. Team names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify the teams we cover; we aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any team, league or school.

Accuracy and corrections

Our stories are drafted with AI and checked against their sources, as How we use AI explains, and every story links the records and reports it comes from. We work to get every fact right, but mistakes can happen, so check the linked sources before relying on a story for an important decision. Nothing here is legal, financial, tax or medical advice. If you find an error, please tell us; we fix errors and note significant corrections on the story.

Scores, weather, roads and other live data

Scores, schedules, weather, air quality, road conditions, prices and similar figures come from outside sources, may be delayed or incomplete, and are for general information only. For safety decisions, use the official source we link.

Links to other sites

We link to public records, other newsrooms and other sites so you can read the source yourself. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.

Messages and tips

If you send us a tip, correction or message, you confirm it is truthful to the best of your knowledge. Our privacy page explains what we keep and why.

Using the site fairly

Please don't try to disrupt the site, get into areas that aren't public, or collect its pages in a way that overloads it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
