Approved in the GC-2 zone. A median will extend to Costco and a new signal will be added on 900 West (reimbursement agreement to follow). Carroll said the light is too close to the others; Barnes said drivers cutting across lanes by IFA scared him.

Reimbursement agreement with JKG, LLC for 900 West improvements and signal near Costco

    Approved · 4-1

Agreement reimbursing developer JKG, LLC for required 900 West improvements, including a new traffic signal at the Costco entrance and an extended non-mountable median replacing the center turn lane. Carroll said existing signals are about 1,390 feet apart and a light between them would fall far below UDOT's 1,320-foot guideline, and asked for traffic modeling first; Christiansen worried about northbound backups onto State Street. Public Works Director Scott Sensanbaugher said a warrant analysis showed the signal is needed for safety and a progression study would set timing. Bunker said the signal has been discussed for at least five years, Costco (in Lehi) has signal pedestals in place, approved Crown Burger and bank projects included the signal, and the city is on the hook for reimbursement. Amount not stated in the minutes.
