Ordinance 2024-11: Lynn Community Plan amendment on historic preservation

    Approved · 7-0

The council amended the Lynn Community Plan to recognize historic structures and features and recommend local historic designation, monuments and markers, particularly around 2nd Street west of Wall Avenue, where a Shoshone Bingham Fort site is located. The change came from a 2022 council initiative by Council Member Hyer, with Planning Commission review, a community meeting and a survey. Residents supporting it said it could discourage future multi-family proposals and identifies a possible park site. Vice Chair White noted owners are not bound because the plan is a guiding document.

Moved by Council Member Richard Hyer, seconded by Council Member Dave Graf. Vote: 7-0
