Utah County

Zones 6a to 7a; most cities fall in 6a and 7a.

Utah County runs from lake-level Provo and Spanish Fork up to Alpine and the mountain benches. By the 2023 USDA data most of the county falls in zones 6b and 7a, with 6a on the higher benches. The frost dates show the same spread: USU puts Spanish Fork at an average last frost of May 1 and 165 frost-free days, while Alpine is May 20 with 136.[1]

Even inside Provo, USU gives two stations: May 1 at BYU and May 21 at the airport.[2] Plant by your own yard's record when you can.

Zone by city

Zones come from the 2023 USDA map data matched to each city's nearest ZIP codes. A range means the ZIP codes around the city disagree; your own yard may differ, so check your address on the USDA map. Tap a city for its page.
