Provo Airport snow removal equipment building
Provo Airport has opened a new building for its snow-removal equipment, ending a setup in which most of the equipment sat outside. Utah County reported the opening on Aug. 19, 2026. The airport director said the building has eight pull-through bays and space for operations staff, where before only one usable bay in a small building was available because the other two held fire trucks. The project began with a $7.5 million Airport Fund appropriation on Nov. 19, 2024, backed by interfund loans of $3.5 million from the Energy Fund and $4.0 million from the Mountain Vista fund. Utah County says the Federal Aviation Administration contributed substantially but gives no amount, and no final cost or loan repayment has been published. Officials expect faster winter response, which is an expectation and not a measured result.
