    Primary Children's Hospital grading permit

    Approved with conditions · 5-0

The council approved a grading permit on about 36.34 acres. Jimmy Nielsen, for the hospital, said UDOT was unlikely to grant a new access to 2100 North. Coury Morris of Great Basin Engineering said trucks coming from the west would need the secondary haul route. Council Member Koivisto suggested trucks use the Texas turnaround on 2100 North at 2300 West; Mr. Morris worried about large trucks accelerating and crossing all lanes, and Council Member Hancock raised safety concerns about that option. Mayor Johnson said the city monitors and adjusts haul routes as needed. The approval asks the applicant to look at the turnaround for the main haul route and to consider using the future main entrance as an exit onto 2100 North.
