Parks Manager Steve Marchbanks and Street Manager BJ Benson described the steps the city took, saying the city was responsible for dealing with the nuisance and making the area safer for pedestrians. The council discussed what to do with funds if some residents choose not to replant a tree, asked for a plan for any remaining funds and said it wants the money spent in the neighborhood.
