Council Member Paul Hancock said, because Lehi votes by mail, voters can return ballots before candidates' finances are disclosed, and a new date would add transparency. Members discussed whether 'soft money' should be covered and how it would be enforced. Aaron Bullen raised enforcement concerns; Jesse Riddle said his main concern with soft money is when a developer is involved. The council tabled the ordinance to the next meeting and told staff to be more specific on the deadline and add language on disclosing soft money if a candidate knows of it.
