Agenda, item by item

  1. Item 2.1 · Parks

Disc golf course at the Willis Estates wetlands (pre-council)

    Discussed

Skyler Beltran of the Parks, Trails and Trees Committee proposed a disc golf course in open space near Willis Estates, saying installation is affordable and the land has no other use. Disc golfer Curtis Clements gave cost estimates and said residents would help maintain it. The council was interested in setting aside funds and suggested fundraising.

  2. Item 2.2 · Budget

Fiscal 2022 budget and capital projects (pre-council)

    Discussed

Public Works Director Dave Norman asked for a larger line item for sidewalk work, used citywide for maintenance and ADA needs; City Engineer Lorin Powell had a priority map for downtown sidewalks. Council Member Paige Albrecht wanted downtown not neglected and suggested grants. Council Member Chris Condie asked for another school resource officer, more library book funding, paved parking at the Vets ballpark and an all abilities park at Family Park rather than Mellor-Rhodes; Albrecht suggested a part-time grant writer. City Administrator Jason Walker said funds could be moved and staff would report back.
