Mayor's State of the City; council releases $15.3 million in retainers, rezones Timpview Logistics land
January 23, 2024, 7:00 p.m. · American Fork City Hall, 31 N. Church St.
Mayor Frost's State of the City cited a $12 million pressurized irrigation meter project paid almost entirely by grants, the opening of Fire Station 52 (partly from an $8.5 million 2019 bond), 873 building permits and 26,102 inspections, and the planned city fiber network with Strata Networks. With Councilmember Clark Taylor absent, consent items released about $15.3 million in developer improvement guarantees, led by $4.54 million and $4.50 million for AF Crossing Plats A and B. The council rezoned part of the Timpview Logistics Center land at 1500 South Center Street, adopted state-mandated administrative subdivision approvals, raised planning review fees and set a $212,310.56 escrow for Gold Crest Homes' Beck Hillside subdivision.

Development options for a 2.5-acre office parcel north of the hospital
Broker Brian Summers of Wasatch Life Realty and developer Steve McCleary asked the council to lower the 4-acre minimum for mixed-use townhome/office projects so a 2.5-acre professional office parcel north of the hospital could be developed; Jana White, daughter of owners Hubert and Alana Issel, said the parcel has been hard to sell because of access and a planned road.
