Council denies THN annexation petition for leaving an unincorporated island; accepts clean FY2023 audit

January 9, 2024, 7:00 p.m. · American Fork City Hall, 31 N. Church St.

With Councilmember Clark Taylor absent, the council unanimously denied the THN annexation petition for 1.121 acres at 1054 East 300 North because it left out the Hansen property to the north and would create an island; neighbors had objected to a possible three-story building. It accepted the FY2023 audit from Larsen & Co. with no findings, returned the 0.61-acre Learning Blocks Daycare property at 355 East 200 South to residential, approved an encroachment agreement in exchange for a 20-foot utility easement, and named Councilmember Ernie John to the Central Utah 911 and North Pointe Solid Waste boards.
