Agenda, item by item

  1. Public safety

Mayor's proposal to seek authority for a local mask requirement

    Discussed

Mayor Daines proposed sending a request, through the Bear River Health Department, to the Governor's Task Force to allow Logan to require masks; Utah State University already requires them in some settings. Council Members Amy Anderson, Jensen and Simmonds supported the request, and Simmonds asked whether Cache Valley Transit would also have to comply. Bradfield asked whether a mandate could be paired with a request about larger gatherings and said he would support one if the city used CARES funds to provide free masks. Mark Anderson said he would comply with mandates regardless of his personal view. The mayor will draft the letter; no vote was taken.
