Lehi council work session weighs northwest freeway access options that alarm Holbrook Farms residents
July 13, 2026, 4:00 p.m. · Lehi City Council Chambers, Lehi Civic Center, 131 N. 100 E.
City Engineer Brad Kenison walked the council through long-range options for a new I-15 connection in northwest Lehi, including a Camp Williams-preferred alignment at 2700 North beside the Holbrook Farms neighborhood, and a possible widening of Triumph Boulevard to six lanes under the Union Pacific tracks. No decisions were made, but the options drew a petition and calls from Holbrook Farms residents afterward. The council also discussed a fee policy for the new civic center Steinway piano, a Nice Healthcare proposal and paid parking at Dry Creek Lake.

Northwest Lehi transportation options
Discussed
City Engineer Brad Kenison presented long-term traffic options for northern Lehi around Thanksgiving Point and Camp Williams as part of the Transportation Master Plan update. Options shown: a UDOT freeway-to-freeway connection (estimated at about $3.2 billion), an arterial from a future I-15 interchange to Redwood Road (Option 1, through Camp Williams land, which the Guard does not support), and an alternate alignment from a future I-15 interchange to 2700 North (Option 2, supported by the Utah National Guard). Staff also evaluated widening Triumph Boulevard from four to six 11-foot lanes beneath the UPRR bridge, which would remove sidewalks under the bridge, require a pedestrian detour and add about 20% peak capacity, with a proposed speed-limit cut from 35 to 30 mph near 2100 North/Ashton Drive. According to the Lehi Free Press, Councilmember Heather Newall said afterward that the council was not asked to choose a route.
