  1. Item 2.1 · Presentation

Engineering assessment of the Bull River conditioned storage facility retaining wall

Discussed · Bull River Road area

Resident John Madsen and structural engineer Garth Haslam of Crossroads Engineers said the retaining wall, built years ago with the original commercial development, is failing; the developer now holds a building permit for a new facility on the commercial property. City Attorney Ryan Wood noted differences between the two engineering reports and said strong evidence is needed to revoke a building permit, questioning the link between the wall and the new construction. Developer Mark Wells described the wall's construction and materials. Building and Inspections' Arnie Hunt said the wall needs a final inspection and a report from the engineer of record, and that the wall and the building permit are separate and not contingent on each other. Wood said enforcement options exist if ordinances were not followed. No vote was taken.
