Moderate-income housing goals (joint session with the Planning Commission)

    Discussed

City Planner Brittney Harris led a discussion of the moderate-income housing element and new state requirements and said staff want more innovative goals. She listed causes of high housing prices as short supply, a lack of skilled labor, inflation, consumer and student debt, income disparity and investment buying. She reported 2020 median household income of $101,429 in Lehi and $77,057 in Utah County, and said resident and developer surveys favored regulations that are not overly burdensome, consistency between cities, and room for different living situations.
