The council held a hearing on the citywide twenty-year Public Lands master plan for parks, natural lands and urban forests. Three speakers addressed it: one board chair urged the council to move ahead with the plan; one said the Fleet Block should be a park and the plan should focus on restrooms and more dog parks; and a community council representative supported the plan and called for more public lands funding. The council closed the hearing and referred the item for later action; adoption was tentatively set for May 3.
