Redevelopment money
Rise project area: two tie-breaking votes and a $1.8 million projection
Pleasant View's redevelopment agency adopted the Rise Community Reinvestment Area in January on the mayor's tie-breaking vote, and the council approved the city's participation the same way in August. The project budget projects $1,773,017 for the agency over 15 years; it is a projection, not a payment.
170, 42 or 31: the job figures in Pleasant View's Rise records
Public records about the Rise bakery expansion give different job figures: 170 under a manufacturing scenario and 15 for warehousing in January, up to 42 at the county in March, and 31 in the state's September award. The records reviewed do not reconcile them.
Pleasant View's redevelopment fund held $4.8 million, earned mostly interest in 2025
Before the Rise project area was adopted, Pleasant View's redevelopment agency fund ended fiscal 2025 with $4,836,586. Nearly all of its $234,289 in revenue that year was interest, and it transferred $387,000 to the General Fund.
