RV parks and commercial self-storage, Ordinance 22-05 (public hearing)

    Approved · 5-0

The council adopted amendments removing RV parks and commercial self-storage from the commercial services and industrial zones, making impound tow lots conditional and adding RV park standards: a 3-acre minimum, up to 20 spaces an acre, 25-foot perimeter setbacks, 20 percent open space and 30-day stays, with up to 20 percent of spaces allowed up to 180 days. Staff said about 38 percent of industrial land is vacant and these uses give little tax or job benefit. The new code does not apply to existing RV parks. The Planning Commission recommended approval 5-0 and no one spoke.
