City Attorney Craig Carlston presented the ordinance at a special meeting. According to a news report, it prohibits development and construction of data centers and data center power plants and bars the city from accepting, processing, approving or issuing any application, permit or approval for them for 180 days, effective immediately and expiring automatically unless the council acts sooner. The report named no specific Logan project, and said Cache County approved its own 180-day pause in late June. The vote count and individual votes were not reported.
