Agenda, item by item

  1. Roads and utilities

Ten-million-gallon water storage tank and utility bond (work session)

No action · Orem Community Park

Public Works Manager Chris Tschirki said Vineyard decided to build its own tank, so Orem will build one at the Community Park property, which has a conservation easement requiring the area be restored; the Public Works Advisory Commission approved the location. The cost, with a well and replacing a park pavilion, is targeted for bonding. Financial advisor Laura Lewis said the city would use about $17 million of cash to lower bond rates. The council generally favored the location and the bond process.

The R20 zone requires 20,000 square feet; R12 requires 12,000, and the General Plan's Low Density Residential designation supports it. Several neighbors attended a neighborhood meeting with no objections. A neighbor wrote that they would prefer one home but did not object and asked that the new houses be sited with care.
