City Administrator Jason Walker recognized Paige Albrecht, Chris Condie, Paul Hancock and Mark Johnson for their years of service as retiring elected officials.

  2. Item 4 · Appointment

    Interviews for the council vacancy

    Discussed

Each applicant gave a two-minute introduction and answered one question from the council. Seventeen applicants were listed (Jim Bratt, Larry Banks, Doug Clark, Robert Reader, Savannah Johnston, Vern Keesler, Katie Koivisto, E LaRell Stephens, Stephen 'Polo' Su'a-Filo, Josh Sorenson, Derek Shumway, Jess Green, Emily Lockhart, Jared Peterson, Derek Phillips, Montane Hamilton and Tyson Hodges); Koivisto joined late and Sorenson was not present. Questions touched on collaboration, the budget, the Morning Vista tax subsidy, the downtown plan, police staffing, water and growth. The vacancy was filled by a vote of the five other council members, with Albrecht voting for the seat she was leaving. Albrecht, Hancock and Newall each named Lockhart; the mayor did not poll Condie and Stallings since three was a majority. Stallings said she would have voted for Koivisto because she was the only applicant elected by Lehi voters and who had served a full council term.
