In a work session, the Lehi City Council reviewed park plans and the fiscal 2022 budget. Staff estimated at least $4.15 million of fill work for Mellor-Rhodes Park, or $7.9 million to raise the fields to road level, and the council leaned toward the lower-cost option if drainage is manageable. Parks Manager Steve Marchbanks said Mellor-Rhodes Park needs extensive fill work costing at least $4.15 million, or $7.9 million to raise the fields to road level. The council preferred the lower, cheaper option as long as drainage can be handled. He showed an updated Family Park concept, passive on the north and active on the south with a small amphitheater. Jason Bond said full cost recovery for trailer camping at Willow Park would need a large KOA-style design; the council preferred a more open concept with fewer spaces even if costs are not fully recovered.
