UTA briefs council on FrontRunner double-tracking through American Fork

January 20, 2026, 4:05 p.m. · City Administration Conference Room, 51 E. Main St.

With only two council members present, UTA and UDOT officials described the $3.2 billion FrontRunner 2X project, which would double-track most of Utah County, including a 4.4-mile segment north of the American Fork station, for 15-minute peak service by 2030. Strip acquisitions of 15-20 feet are expected; no station relocation is funded. Mayor Frost urged UTA to move the American Fork station and add parking, saying it overloads 200 South.
