Council renames Art Dye Park as Mary and Art Dye Park; parking cut for Auto Mall Drive cheer gym fails

May 27, 2025, 7:00 p.m. · American Fork City Hall, 31 N. Church St.

The council officially renamed Art Dye Park as Mary and Art Dye Park, with relatives of Mary Dye sharing family history. A request to cut required parking for a business center at 452 East Auto Mall Drive, where a cheer training gym plans to open, failed 1-2 after Councilmembers Ryan Hunter and Ernie John worried about drop-off traffic and children crossing a busy road. The council also joined a library consortium with Pleasant Grove and Highland and released public improvement guarantees including Fenn Farms at 350 South 700 West.
