Mountain bikers pitch a bike park at Art Dye; council updates transportation master plan

March 12, 2024, 7:00 p.m. · American Fork City Hall, 31 N. Church St.

About a dozen cyclists, including a 15-year-old, a bike shop owner, a Trek store manager and high school team coaches, asked the council for a purpose-built bike park, preferably at Art Dye Park; the mayor said space there is contested by disc golf but other sites could work. With Councilmember Ryan Hunter absent, the council amended the Transportation Master Plan to add road classifications, signals and roundabouts, allowed reception centers in the CC-2 zone, and vacated part of a utility easement for North Pointe Business Park Building F.
