Council appoints Ryan Hunter to fill Barbara Christiansen's seat after mayor breaks tie

April 29, 2021, 7:30 p.m. · American Fork City Hall, 31 N. Church St.

The American Fork City Council appointed Ryan Hunter to serve the rest of the late Councilmember Barbara Christiansen's term through 2021, choosing from 11 applicants. A motion to appoint former Councilmember Heidi Rodeback, who did not plan to run in the fall, failed 2-2 after Mayor Bradley Frost broke the tie, saying he wanted someone who would continue on the council; Hunter was then approved 4-0 and sworn in.
