Annexation petition, 2409 Iron Canyon Drive (PL-23-05882)

    Approved · 3-2

Accepting the petition starts the review process; it is not final approval. The petition would annex 0.94 acres from Summit County in Thaynes Canyon and create three single-family lots. Opponents cited common-area status, lot size and safety on Iron Canyon Drive; many written comments opposed driveway access from Iron Canyon Drive while generally accepting one home. Rubell raised a remnant-parcel issue and wanted to continue the item, but the city attorney said continuance was not an option. Parigian moved to deny and the motion died for lack of a second. Dickey argued the city should be the land-use authority; an annexation agreement would set development parameters. Ciraco disclosed that his property borders the annexation site and he is president of the bordering homeowners' association; he voted.
