Sky Mountain Substation and Substation #1 (electric system)

Hurricane's council authorized the sale of up to $24 million in electric revenue bonds (Series 2027) on Oct. 1 to finish the Sky Mountain Substation, build Substation #1 near the Romney property and run a transmission line along SR-7 to reach it. City Manager Kaden DeMille put current estimates at about $21 million including contingencies, said the city has already bought some components, and called $24 million a conservative cap. He said impact fees are expected to pay the bond payments. The vote to authorize the bonds was unanimous.
