    Denied · 7-0

The Council had 14 days from March 17 to accept or deny the petition, after which it would be considered accepted. Council Member Petro said a city-led annexation would let the city control what happens on the land. The Council denied the petition without prejudice to the applicant refiling, and, under Utah Code 10-2-418, initiated a legislative action asking the Administration to start a city-led process to annex unincorporated county land generally north of 2100 North and west of I-215, to be formally confirmed at a later meeting. Speakers in public comment asked the Council to deny or defer the petition, which one identified as filed by Excel, until conservation proposals and Northpointe plan changes were considered.

Moved by Council Member Daniel Dugan, seconded by Council Member Victoria Petro. Vote: 7-0
