Rezone at 2157 South Lincoln Street

    Discussed

Staff described a request to rezone about 0.7 acres from RB (Residential/Business) to C-SHBD2 (Sugar House Business District) to allow a multifamily project that would preserve and reuse the Victorian house on the site. The Planning Commission forwarded a positive recommendation, with a condition to remove the park strip and widen the sidewalk. Petitioner representative the applicant said designating the house historic would cause ADA access problems to its upper floors and that exhibits on sidewalk width would be provided at the public hearing. Members asked about the sidewalk condition, affordable housing, parking, electric vehicle charging, bike storage and how a development agreement would keep preservation commitments with the land.
