Jordan Bluffs Pod I road layout amendment
A developer asked Midvale to change the street plan for the Jordan Bluffs zone near Bingham Junction Boulevard. Ordinance 2026-O-30 would remove two public-street features from the zoning figures: the secondary road that separates Pod I from Pod J, and a narrower public right-of-way along the south edge of the park. The applicant says the change should ease congestion at Ivy and Bingham Junction Boulevard. Planning staff say it would do the opposite by cutting the connections to Bingham Junction Boulevard, would make the area less walkable, and does not meet the city's standard for changing the code, so they recommend denial. The Planning Commission recommended approval on a split vote. The council tabled the item Sept. 15 and asked the city engineer to weigh in on safety and viability; the Oct. 20 packet has the item back without an engineer's report, and the result is not yet posted.

Ordinance 2026-O-30: remove rights-of-way adjacent to Pod I, Jordan Bluffs zone
Pending
The ordinance would amend Figures 1 and 2 of the Jordan Bluffs zone rules to eliminate two public rights-of-way next to Pod I: the secondary road that divides Pod I from Pod J, and a narrower right-of-way on the south edge of the park. The applicant says that should help traffic at Ivy and Bingham Junction Boulevard. Staff say fewer connections could increase congestion and make the design less pedestrian-oriented, find that the proposal does not meet the code-amendment criteria, and advise denial. The Planning Commission recommended approval on a split vote.
