Zone text amendments: group dwellings (work session)

    Discussed

Senior Planner Brandon Rypien summarized a petition from Mike Bastian to update the group dwelling ordinance (Chapter 10 of the zoning code). Changes address definitions, lot area, setbacks, building orientation, landscaping, parking, open space and removal of density bonuses. Petitioner Bastian said the changes would yield better multifamily projects than standard townhomes. Council Members Dave Graf and Richard Hyer asked for more discussion of the housing types before action, which staff had floated for Jan. 23.
