Workshop: UAMPS amended and restated power pooling agreement, Resolution 26-07

    Discussed

Light & Power Resource Manager Tyson Godfrey said the late-1980s pooling agreement is outdated and that UAMPS will act as Logan's scheduling and market agent when western utilities move to the Extended Day Ahead Market on May 1, 2026. Logan keeps control of its resources, pays for its purchases and its share of administrative costs, and withdrawal requires at least five years' notice. Staff recommended approval. Action was set for March 17.

  2. March 17, 2026 · City Council

UAMPS amended and restated power pooling agreement, Resolution 26-07 (public hearing)

    Approved · 5-0

The council approved the agreement and its execution, effective with the regional day-ahead market on May 1. Tyson Godfrey said it is designed for 15 to 20 years and exit would be considered only if a comparable joint agency offered greater value. Council Member Simmonds said it is not economically feasible for Logan to participate alone. No one spoke.
