Rivergate annexation, Ordinance 22-12 (public hearing)

    Approved · 5-0

The council annexed about 30 acres of farmland north of 600 South at about 1600 to 1900 West (the minutes give both) for Rivergate LLC, with NR-6 zoning consistent with the future land use plan and the development to the south. The president of the Logan River Trails HOA said residents accept NR-6 but raised traffic, bike routes, split school district boundaries and the desire for a park, trails, bus stops and fiber. Chair Simmonds said school boundaries are set by the state.

    • Acres: about 30
    • Zoning: NR-6

    Planning Commission update

    Discussed

Council Member Jeannie Simmonds reported the commission conditionally approved a Raising Cane's at the former Sizzler site, the 109-unit Rivergate subdivision at 1900 West 1600 South and Campus Academy, an adolescent treatment home for up to 48 girls at 675 East 400 North, and continued a four-lot addition to the Mountain Estates development to January 26 because of engineering and soil stability concerns. Mayor Daines noted residential treatment facilities must be permitted in any zone, though conditions can be imposed. No action.
