Official visitor information ↗

East Canyon sits in the mountains of Morgan County, close enough to the Wasatch Front for a weeknight camp. The park has a beach, boat launch, rentals, a gift shop and a ranger station, and fishing, kayaking, waterskiing and swimming are all listed.

Its camping list is unusually varied: RV sites with full or partial hookups, tent pads, primitive sites, yurts, cabins, cottages, covered wagons and hammock sites. Showers, restrooms and a dump station serve the developed areas, and overnight reservations are recommended through ReserveAmerica.

The park is certified as an International Dark Sky Park, which suits the overnight stays. The Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail runs alongside; the National Park Service has an East Canyon overlook on that route.

In winter, the park lets snowmobiles and street-legal OHVs launch onto the ice from the boat ramp, a winter-only rule. Check the park page for the current fire-restriction stage before lighting anything.
