EngineHouse affordable housing: public benefits analysis and $754,497 appropriation

    Continued · 5-0

JFisher Development presented benefits: 99 deed-restricted affordable units, transit access, open space and three market-rate units reserved for city employees. The city subsidy is $93,579 per affordable unit; employee-unit rents would be $2,500 to $3,900. Funding options were the soils remediation account or housing public-private partnership funds. A speaker for Mountainlands Community Housing Trust said soils remediation came in well under the $7 million budget. The council continued the item and the public hearing to November 6, with an option to reserve employee units on adjusted terms. The motion says six employee units while the presentation offered three.
