Ron Wood Park municipal well (Well 8)

The city's eighth municipal well, meant to add to the water West Jordan can pump for its own system. The adopted FY2027 Water Fund carries $1.4 million for it as a carryover project: $1.15 million in the mayor's budget plus a $250,000 addition. That is a budget line, not a contract price or a total of what has been paid. The well is a separate project from the park's restrooms, parking and fields and from the proposed Ron Wood Park recreation center, which would depend on a county bond vote this November. Latest verified milestone: the mayor's Sept. 14 message called the well "making progress." It does not say the well is operating. Still needed: the operating permit or commissioning record, and the contract, change orders and payments.

The state's WaterLink engineering list shows Ron Wood Park Well 8 (WS012) as project 11101 for West Jordan City Water System 18020, with the operating-permit-issued field blank in the retrieved record. A blank field does not show that no permit exists or that the well is unfinished. Source

  2. September 14, 2026

Mayor's message: the new municipal well "is making progress," while the park's restrooms and added parking are complete and utility work is wrapping up. The message does not name the well's operating status. Source

  3. August 25, 2026

The council adopted the FY2027 budget with $1.4 million for Well 8 (Ron Wood Park) as a Water Fund carryover. Source

  4. September 15, 2025

The project page reports the building shell up and site work done, with remaining work inside and a wait for long-lead equipment; it projected completion in late fall or early winter. The page gives the month, not a day. Source

  5. January 15, 2025

The city's project page says crews began mobilizing equipment and excavation was under way. The page gives the month, not a day. Source
