    Continued · 7-0

One hearing covered the mayor's recommended budget ordinances: the city and Library Fund budgets, the property tax levy, the consolidated fee schedule, pay for elected and statutory officers and non-represented employees, funding for AFSCME and firefighter union agreements, code changes on city vehicles, parking enforcement, Public Services and Community and Neighborhoods responsibilities, Sustainability Department and Title 17 utilities, the Capital Improvement Program, and Addendum No. 9 to the UTA interlocal agreement for frequent bus service. Speakers asked to move $3 million from Green Loop funds to foothill trail maintenance and fire stations, requested speed bumps, safety measures and traffic circles in Fairpark, Sugar House, District 4 and near the University of Utah, asked for completion of trails for mountain bikers and hikers, asked for funding of Main and Broadway shade and repairs to a 1200 East island, and proposed a safety set-aside in the CIP process. The Council referred the items to a new hearing June 3.
