Red Iguana

The Cardenas family's Mexican restaurant on North Temple, known for its moles, since 1985.

Ramon and Maria Cardenas opened Red Iguana in 1985, after running Casa Grande from 1965. The restaurant's history names Lucy Cardenas and her husband, Bill Coker, as carrying it on. This page is about the original North Temple location, which the family calls "The OG."

Mole is the center of the menu: coloradito, negro, poblano and verde, among others, alongside puntas de filete a la norteña, cochinita pibil and Tacos Don Ramon. The restaurant notes its tables are close together.
