Springdale at a glance
Washington County · Utah
Springdale is the gateway town to Zion National Park, and the park's mailing address is on the town's Zion Park Boulevard. Zion began as Mukuntuweap National Monument in 1909, became Zion National Monument in 1918 and a national park in 1919, according to the National Park Service. Red and white sandstone cliffs rise above the Virgin River, and tourism shapes the town, which lists lodging and dining, trails and a Historic Preservation Commission on its website.
The town website carries the Town Council roster, a posted meeting schedule, links to agendas and minutes, adopted ordinances and a livestream of council meetings, along with utility bill payments and a form to report a problem. It also describes the shuttle that links town stops to the park. To follow a decision, read the posted agenda in advance and check the minutes once they are approved.
