Secondary water project: approval to go out to bid

    Tabled · 3-0

The council tabled consideration of approving the secondary water project to go out to bid, for lack of information. The minutes say a council member raised procedural concerns and said he had not received the current project plans. The mayor and another council member said the action was to solicit bids, not to approve a final contract.

    • The minutes say a new meeting was scheduled for Sept. 30 so a council member could review the 140-page project plan, with a bid opening set for Oct. 20 and an award for Oct. 21.
    • The vote was to table, not to authorize bids, award construction or pay a contractor.
    • Later records: the state notice site lists a Sept. 30 special meeting agenda as canceled, and the Oct. 7 council agenda lists approving bidding for the secondary water project. No later vote has been verified.

Councilman Valenti moved; Councilman Gubler seconded (consent agenda motion).. Vote: 3-0 on the consent agenda motion that included tabling this item; Pectol, Valenti and Gubler voting yes
