Canyon Gate general plan amendment and rezone

Land-use changes on 7.2 acres owned by Canyons School District at 825 East 9085 South: a general-plan change from Institutional to Medium Density Neighborhood and a rezone from R-1-8 to PUD(12) with a development agreement. The council denied the application on September 15, 2026 and approved it on reconsideration on October 20 (general plan 6-1, rezone and agreement 5-2) after the developer agreed to rental limits: no more than 20% of units rented for five years after sale. Earlier July materials described 86 townhomes; the current unit count has not been reverified.
