WonderBlock parking update (work session)
Discussed
City Engineer Taylor Nielsen said a 2023 purchase contract lets the Redevelopment Agency acquire seven state-owned parcels used for Second District Court parking in exchange for securing existing parking plus 125 stalls and an option for 100 monthly passes in the WonderBlock east garage. Because placing court employee parking on the first floor is not feasible, the plan moves it to the second floor with visitor parking on several levels. The board approved a first amendment to the land transfer and development agreement in October 2024; staff said the changes are not material, so no council or agency action is needed.
