In the candidate's own words
Shana Anderson is a U.S. Army veteran and an economist with a master's degree in economics, according to her survey answers in the Tribune. She says she entered the race because of what she calls the Legislature's "attacks" on teachers. [1]
Anderson calls housing the largest household expense and wants to curb corporate and hedge-fund purchases of single-family homes, with tax policy that favors owner-occupancy. On water she urges Utah to address use aggressively, noting that Nevada has cut water use while growing. She opposes the Little Cottonwood Canyon gondola in favor of enhanced busing and public transit. She opposes both Amendment A and Amendment B. [1]
