Background
Michael R. Stoddard’s campaign describes him as a certified public accountant and certified financial planner whose work has included government auditing, small-business taxes and personal financial planning. He says he graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University. According to his campaign biography, he managed the Wasatch County audit for several years and was the partner responsible for audits of Midway, Provo, Lindon, the Provo School District and Community Action in Provo. He also describes extensive independent study of Austrian economics and monetary policy.

An Affordability Crisis is raging, the US Dollar has lost in excess of 95% of its value. The finances of the United States of America are in grave disrepair, underreported and even misreported. Federal Bond debt is more than $40 trillion and growing beyond control. There exists greater than $100 trillion in unreported and unfunded US debt. I will submit the following legislation: 1. The US Federal Government must submit to outside 3rd party independent audit every year. 2. US debt must be restructured (drastically reduced). 3. The US must return to sound money. The Second Amendment to the Constitution is almost universally misunderstood by conservatives and liberals alike. The first thirteen words are integral to a complete understanding of the Founding Father’s intent and its original and historical function. US Citizens have been stripped of both their Second Amendment rights and responsibilities. Under current Utah State Code most citizens are members of the State “Unorganized” militia. This is a bastardization of the first thirteen words. It requires corrective legislation at both the State and Federal levels. We need to raise the Standard of Liberty now or our great grandchildren will lose their heritage forever.
