In the candidate's own words
Udell's survey answers describe work as an "engineering scientist and ethics professor." Udell says the campaign accepts no corporate political donations and that at least 75 percent of donations come from individuals giving $200 or less. [1]
On affordability, Udell supports federal backing for Gov. Spencer Cox's starter-home initiative, renewable energy, universal health care and childcare tax credits. On water Udell calls for a comprehensive assessment of surface and groundwater, fairly compensated leasing of water rights and changes to "use it or lose it" rules. Udell also proposes a Carbon Fee and American Return plan on climate and supports Amendment A and opposes Amendment B. [1]

Kent Stewart Udell is an engineer, outdoorsman and educator who feels called to serve America at this critical moment.
Kent’s Utah roots run deep, being born, raised and educated in Utah. A descendant of Jacob Hamblin and Levi Stewart, and cousin of Interior Secretary Stewart Udall, he grew up with the values of hard work, stewardship and service. He hauled hay, drove a 10-wheeler and worked in mining before earning his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His career took him from pioneering groundwater clean-up technology to sustainable energy to teaching ethics.
Kent was enjoying retirement in Castle Valley – where he has been river-rafting, hiking, biking, and fishing – when he decided he could no longer sit on the sidelines.
His priorities are safeguarding Utah’s precious lands and water, defending the Constitution, protecting Social Security and addressing our healthcare/affordability crisis. He is calling for a moratorium on new data centers.
Dr. Udell accepts ZERO donations from corporate PACs. He believes representatives should answer to the people they serve and not the biggest donors.
Kent isn’t seeking a political career. He has taken a term-limit pledge. He’s answering a call to serve with a practical, principled vision that prioritizes everyday Utahns.
