In their own words: the Tribune questionnaire
On corruption, Neal cites closed-door deals, legislators overriding citizen ballot initiatives and unchecked one-party control, and says he answers to families rather than special interests or PACs. On affordability he focuses on housing, health care and child care: cutting red tape on starter homes, treating child care as infrastructure, and requiring health care price transparency. [1]
On water he wants water priced to reflect its true cost and property taxes removed from water district funding, and says the Great Salt Lake's drying threatens public health and the economy. He opposes private school vouchers and wants public education funding protected. He answered For on Constitutional Amendment A and Against on Amendment B. [1]
