Work

The Tribune's questionnaire lists Rushforth's occupation as teacher in the Davis School District. [1]

In their own words: the Tribune questionnaire

On trust, Rushforth says officials serve themselves and ignore voters, citing the repealed HB267 limit on public-union bargaining and the Legislature's resistance to the fair voting maps law. On affordability he would fund first-time homebuyer subsidies, bar private equity from buying single-family homes, fully fund state mandates to avoid local property tax increases, and reduce or eliminate the state grocery tax. [1]

On water he would back federally coordinated Great Salt Lake restoration funding, a data center moratorium until the lake is healthy, and agricultural irrigation subsidies. He would seek higher per-pupil spending and raises for teachers and support staff. He answered Against on Constitutional Amendments A and B. [1]

Education and career

The campaign website lists a Bachelor of Science in geography from Brigham Young University (2019) and a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University (2025). Rushforth teaches social studies and theater in the Davis School District. [2]

Stated priorities

These are the candidate's own statements from the campaign website, not checked by The Utah Ledger. The site says Rushforth is running "because I want to make sure my students will never have to wonder if any politicians care about them," and names support for educators, fair maps, and conservation and restoration of the Great Salt Lake. No endorsements are listed. [2]
