South Jordan

A South Jordan couple say a bullet struck their window frame Sunday, nearly entering a room where they were sitting, and they are asking for better safety measures along a canal behind their home, KUTV reported. They said police determined the bullet likely came from the canal area. [1]

The husband said he first thought a slingshot or pellet had hit the window, then found the slug embedded in the frame. He cited limited lighting, a lack of supervision and multiple access points along the canal. The city confirmed the Utah and Salt Lake Canal Company is responsible for the space. [1]

KUTV sent the company questions Wednesday about lighting, patrols and limiting access. An employee said answers would have to wait for the owner, and the station had not heard back as of publication. The couple said no one has been identified as the shooter, and they installed their own cameras Thursday. [1]
